"Chemistry Kids" is the first day camp program I ever wrote. It was so full of hands-on chemistry activities that I worried I'd never be able to create another program of its caliber.
"Take the best activities, split them over two weeks, and add some lesser chemistry experiments as 'fillers.' Then you'll have two camps to offer," a friend said. "But it's perfect the way it is!" I thought to myself. So here I go again, offering it for the 28th time, and I'm not tired of it at all. Neither were the kids that attended it, apparently. We have about five children who came to our "Chemistry Kids" camp more than twice. Yeah..."perfect the way it is" for certain. Here's a partial list of what the campers will make (and take home with them for further exploration):
And here are just a few of the concepts they'll learn at camp:
I'm proud and excited to be able to offer this camp to children who were likely babies (or not yet born) when we first started offering "Chemistry Kids" to Dallas. I hope you can join us. And if you have a big kid who has been to Chemistry Kids, give me a call. I'm currently seeking two "Junior Lab Rats" (12 - 16 yr olds should apply). -Mess Theme runs the weeks of June 13 - 17 and July 25 - 29. Details can be found HERE.
